Win a $100 Shopbop giftcard courtesy of Shopbop & Juicy Couture

The folks over at Shopbop, in collaboration with Juicy Couture (check out their velour collection - Stacey McGill AND Kristy Thomas approved), want to give away a $100 Shopbop giftcard to one lucky What Claudia Wore reader. Shopbop has an awesome collection of designers (helpful link for the underemployed: shop the sale section by designer) and I doubt you'll have any trouble finding something dibbly fresh.

As a starting point, here's a Claudia-approved statement necklace I found in Juicy Couture's on sale offerings. I bet it would look slammin' with a pair of silver lamé bicycle shorts, one of Mr. Kishi's button-downs, and those Jeffrey Campbell clog booties I love so much.

How to enter:
1. Leave a comment with your e-mail address and favorite BSC member.
2. Cross your fingers and wait patiently. Maybe pass the time by throwing a slumber party for six of your closest friends, complete with pizza, pigtails, and pillow fights.

Gah. Favorite BSC member....

Now: Claudia.
Then: Stacey or Dawn.

I think -as a brunette - I was jealous of the blonde girls.

I always loved Claudia's outrageous outfits, especially since during the hey-day of my BSC reading I attended a Catholic elementary/middle school, complete with nuns and plaid skirt + sailor blouse uniforms. Alas, I am a Kristy at heart - the wildest thing I ever managed to pull off was simultaneously wearing two pairs of scrunch socks; one pink, one purple.

well it seems cliche to say it when reading this blog but is there any doubt - my favorite is and always will be CLAUDIA! Even though I did want to be a ballerina (despite my lack of any dance training). Yeah, what other girl hides various chocolatey treats around her bedroom even though she's all grown up & out of her parent's house? --> this one right here.

tiaceleste@gmail.com

by Mama Bee on 1:04 AM. #

I'd say Mary Anne. I was raised as a Missionary Kid in Africa, and my parents were always very strict and I dressed conservatively and completely out of style with friend's hand-me-downs for the first few years we were back. Finally I figured out how to blend in, however, I have since blossomed into a thrift-store hippie and I love it! So I always felt close to Mary Anne, trying to figure out my place in the fashion world. Sometimes I like Staci because she has diabetes, and I have a rare genetic degenerative connective tissue disease, but she's kind of a brat and a show off so... Mary Anne remains the favorite. And well Claudia now as a fashion icon :)

Kristy. The first girl entrepreneur I ever read about!

It's amazing how deep into my psyche BSC is. I grew up in Taiwan before moving to the states at the age of 8. Everything I knew about America, I learned from BSC books. Ha, aside from the whole ethnic connection - I have always had a soft spot for Claudia - which is why I initially fell in love with this blog. And although my spelling and grammar were a bit above Claud's level (just livin' up to my Asian roots!) my love for candy and all things sweet as well as an afinity to hiding them in random places in my bedroom has always been there (and still is. Just ask my best friend why he checks under my bed for that bag of Doritos EVERY TIME!) Not only that but I think I totally worked into my Claud status fashion-wise...I experiment with everything and end up cutting half of my jeans and t-shirts up when I've grown tired of them to make them into something new. =)

As a shy gal I liked Mary Anne, but I also dug Claudia because I wanted to be as artistic and fashionable as she was. Still do!

Claudia, of course. My thirteen-year-old self only wished to be that creative.

So typical - I loved the Stace-meister. I wanted her perm, her sophisticated wool pants, and even her diabetes. (I don't think I really understood what diabetes was back then.)

Definitely Mary Anne! Her books were so funny- especially once Logan arrived on the scene. I also was made to wear braids until about 5th grad, so I can completely identify with her!

I love Dawn, but Claudia will always be my favorite!

Mary Anne. Looking back, I have barely any Claudia books. I think it may have been a subconscious fear that if I read her books I'd develop a learning disability and spell like her.

I was an AWESOME speller.

I liked Kristy's snarkiness.

I always longed to be as urban and sophisticated as Stacey. There were just no wool trousers in 8-year-old sizes.

Definitely Stacey, with her glamorous New York style. I was even rooting for her to get together with Wes, although my 24-year-old self is more than a little grossed out by the idea.

I definitely always wanted to be Claudia (I still want to be Claudia), but I think Mallory might have been my favorite. I was both jealous of her big family & glad that I could vicariously experience her annoying siblings.
Really, Mallory's totally crazy sister Vanessa was my favorite (drama! emotions! poems!), but she was way too deep for babysitting.

I was convinced as a kid that I was adopted after reading Claudia and The Great Search..she became my favorite after that

Kristy, for sure. She makes things happen. I even auditioned to play her in the movie.

Mary Anne was my first favorite, because she was the star of the first BSC book I ever bought (Mary Anne Saves the Day, at a school book fair), but I later gravitated to Claudia and Dawn. This had a lot to do with me getting less shy.
